DEM Party Strongly Reacts to Detention Operations

The DEM Party has taken a strong stance against the detention operations carried out in Istanbul. Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan expressed that these operations harm democracy.
Bakırhan stated on social media, 'Such operations damage Turkey's quest for democratization.' Hatimoğulları added, 'We oppose any intervention against democracy and the people's right to vote.'

The DEM Party emphasized that the detentions are unlawful and represent a direct attack on the people's will. They called for an immediate end to such political operations.
Furthermore, following the detention of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, the party stated that it would continue to fight against unlawful practices.

The DEM Party insisted that respect for the people's will is essential and that such political operations undermine social peace. 'The law must be applied to everyone' they stated.
