Lewotobi Laki-Laki Volcano Erupts in Indonesia!

The Lewotobi Laki-Laki volcano on Flores Island, Indonesia, erupted violently at 20:48 local time.
During the eruption, an ash column rose approximately 10 kilometers high. Authorities have warned the local population and tourists to stay away from a 6-kilometer radius around the crater.
Muhammad Wafid, head of the Volcanology Agency, stated that the eruption was triggered by increased gas pressure. He also warned about the risk of lahars in case of heavy rainfall.
Last month, an 18-kilometer ash column from the same volcano caused the cancellation of 24 flights at Bali International Airport. However, no flight cancellations have been reported following this latest eruption.
Indonesia frequently experiences volcanic activity and earthquakes due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire. Therefore, the volcanoes in the region are continuously monitored.
