Saudi Arabia has taken a significant step to provide energy support to Syria. 1.65 million barrels of crude oil will play a critical role in meeting Syria's energy needs.

The memorandum signed between the Syrian Ministry of Energy and the Saudi Development Fund states that this oil will be provided as a donation. However, Syria's energy resources are largely under the occupation of the terrorist organization PKK/YPG.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar emphasized that the natural gas supply to Syria is not a donation but a trade. This trade will meet the electricity needs of approximately 5 million households in Syria.

Despite having rich oil resources, Syria has become unable to meet its energy needs due to civil war and sanctions. This situation leads to electricity shortages across the country.
