MHP expelled two of its members following a corruption investigation at Bayrampaşa Municipality. This shows how effective the party's internal disciplinary mechanisms are.

According to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, MHP Istanbul Provincial Board member Yasin Sönmez and Bayrampaşa District Board member Emin Sönmez were referred for expulsion. This decision was announced to the public.

The investigation was initiated due to allegations of 'bribery', 'qualified fraud', and 'manipulating tenders' at Bayrampaşa Municipality. A detention order was issued for 48 individuals in this context.

Among those detained is CHP Mayor Hasan Mutlu, which has caused significant political repercussions and increased tensions between parties.

MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın stated on social media that the expelled members have no ties left with the party. This incident once again highlights MHP's understanding of discipline.
