The investigation was initiated based on a complaint from an earthquake victim who alleged that he was asked for a bribe. Mutlu stated that these allegations do not reflect the truth.

A criminal complaint was filed regarding the audio recordings that circulated on social media. Mutlu claimed that the recordings were fabricated.
