Drought Alert in Thrace: Water Resources at Risk!

Drought is increasing in Thrace! Water resources are on alert.
In Edirne, the water level of the pond built for watering animals in Musabeyli village has started to drop due to insufficient rainfall. Short rainfalls have not helped, and the pond's water has completely dried up.

Thrace is experiencing one of its driest periods in recent years, with some sections of the Tunca River also seeing a halt in water flow. This situation is negatively impacting agricultural production and livestock.

Both Küçükdöllük and Musabeyli ponds have completely dried up. Livestock farmers have had to turn to different water sources to water their animals.

The reservoir levels in Thrace have dropped from 44% last year to 32% this year. This situation highlights the scale of the water crisis in the region.
