Tensions rose at the CHP Malatya's 39th Ordinary Provincial Congress as a fight broke out among party members, prompting police intervention.
The congress took place at the Congress and Culture Center. The conflict escalated after Yazıhan Mayor Abdulvahap Göçer criticized the local organization.

Police teams intervened to control the chaos in the hall. The congress was temporarily suspended.

The congress continued with the participation of CHP Deputy Chairman Ulaş Karasu, and it was noted that the current president Barış Yıldız was running unopposed.
