CHP Deputy Genç harshly criticized Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek's economic management. He stated that Şimşek's promises have not been fulfilled and that the burden on citizens has increased.

Genç pointed out that when Şimşek took office, inflation was at 39.59%, and today it stands at 33.52%, but this is still insufficient. He emphasized that targets have been continuously postponed.

He also mentioned the rapid increase in interest rates, stating that this has placed a heavy burden on producers, tradesmen, and workers. The value of the dollar and gold has risen, leading to a decrease in purchasing power.

Genç said, "Today, it has become impossible for people in Turkey to even give a quarter of gold at weddings. This situation is a document of failure for economic management," he stated.
