Tekirdağ Metropolitan Mayor Candan Yüceer stated that the current water resources have reached a critical level. The reservoir levels are below 1%!

Yüceer emphasized the effects of climate change, saying, "We have received the least rainfall in 65 years. We are not just talking about the climate crisis, we are living it."

Population growth is occurring in Kumbağ and Marmaraereğlisi. The population, which is normally 5-6 thousand, exceeds 100 thousand in the summer months. This increases the water demand.
