Gas Shipment to Syria Has Begun! Minister Bayraktar's Statements

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced that gas shipments to Syria have begun. This shipment is made by transporting natural gas from Azerbaijan through Turkey to Syria.
Minister Bayraktar stated, 'This is not a grant, it is a commercial activity,' highlighting that a daily flow of 6 million cubic meters of gas is being provided. This gas will be used for electricity generation at the natural gas plant in Aleppo.
With rising temperatures, there has been a significant increase in energy consumption. The Minister emphasized that they are working to ensure energy supply security in light of this situation.
Minister Bayraktar stressed that Turkey will continue to support the reconstruction of Syria's energy infrastructure. He noted that efforts are ongoing to meet Syria's electricity needs as well.
