Avalanches, Landslides, and Mudslides: Latest Developments

Recently, avalanches, landslides, and mudslides have affected many regions in Turkey. The landslide in Hatay has closed roads and put citizens in difficult situations.
Following the meteorological warnings of heavy rain, the coastal districts of Hatay experienced significant rainfall, leading to floods and landslides. The landslide in Payas closed the Toprakkale-Iskenderun Highway.

A tornado also formed in Iskenderun, attracting the attention of nearby residents. The tornado was captured on cell phones as it moved across the ocean surface before dissipating.

In Gumushane, a similar situation occurred. A landslide in the Kurtun district completely blocked the road. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and teams quickly intervened to clear the road.
In Duzce, the melting snow has also caused landslides, leading to road closures and transportation disruptions. Authorities have warned citizens to be cautious during these conditions.
