Recent rains in the Aegean region have brought joy to farmers. However, the effects of the climate crisis are still being felt.
According to the data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, a large part of Izmir and Manisa is classified as "very severe drought." However, recent rains have changed this situation.
Yücel Altıntaş, the President of Menemen Agricultural Chamber, stated that the rains after 120 days brought a significant opportunity for vegetable and fruit producers.
Mehmet Kendirlioğlu, the President of Aydın Agricultural Chambers, expressed that the rain was like medicine for olives. These rains revitalized agricultural production.
However, in Yozgat, drought and hail disasters have put farmers in a difficult situation. Crops were affected by drought, while hail also damaged cultivated areas.
