Disaster Scenario Approaches for Istanbul!

Flood risk in Istanbul.

Despite recent rains in Istanbul, the water level in reservoirs is alarming. Currently, the capacity is measured at 24.96%.

Following a dry spring and summer, the water levels in reservoir basins are decreasing daily. The capacity, which approached 80% in March, has now dropped to 24.96%.

Water levels in Istanbul's reservoirs are declining.

Four of the reservoirs supplying water to Istanbul have fallen below 20% capacity. The lowest level is recorded at Kazandere Reservoir at 2.65%.

According to the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI), the capacity of reservoirs has been continuously decreasing in recent years. This situation could lead to flooding and drought disasters.

Experts emphasize the need for water conservation in light of this situation. We must use our water resources carefully.
