Climate Change and Global Warming: What to Expect This Summer

How will climate change and global warming impact Turkey this summer?
According to statements from Boğaziçi University, no temperature records are expected this summer of 2025. However, the risks of drought and extreme heat are increasing due to climate change. Experts predict that this summer will be cooler compared to previous years.
Prof. Dr. Levent Kurnaz noted that 35 days from the beginning of 2025 until the end of May were recorded as the hottest days in history. However, it is anticipated that this summer will not be as hot as in 2023 and 2024.

The rise in global average temperatures is also showing its effects in Turkey. This summer, we may have to deal with drought and rising temperatures.
Experts emphasize that the effects of climate change are becoming more pronounced every day. Therefore, careful use of water resources is essential.
