Avalanche, Landslide, and Soil Erosion Disasters: Fires in Izmir

Recent forest fires in Izmir are occupying the agenda alongside avalanche and landslide disasters.
A forest fire broke out in the Aliağa district of Izmir, and efforts are underway to control it from the air and ground. The fire started at 1:05 PM in the Çolak İbrahim neighborhood, prompting immediate action from the teams.
Firefighting efforts include 3 planes, 3 helicopters, and 14 fire trucks. The wind is making it more challenging to control the flames, and teams are working hard to prevent the fire from reaching industrial areas.
Simultaneously, forest fires are also ongoing in Balıkesir and other regions. This situation highlights how quickly natural disasters can escalate.
Avalanches and landslides, exacerbated by climate change, are occurring more frequently. Therefore, being prepared for such events is of utmost importance.
