Meta Lays Off AI Staff!

Meta has announced it will lay off approximately 600 employees in its AI unit. This decision is viewed as part of the company's effort to reshape its AI strategy.
The layoffs will affect the Fundamental AI Research Unit (FAIR) and other product-related positions. There were concerns within the company that the AI unit had become bloated.
In a note sent to employees, Meta's chief AI officer stated, "By reducing the size of our team, we will need fewer discussions in decision-making processes."
This step is seen as part of Meta's long-standing effort to streamline its criticized large structure. The company is expected to take such steps to increase its competitiveness in the field of artificial intelligence.
