New Developments in the Ezgi Apartment Case: Arrests Made

Significant developments are happening in the Ezgi Apartment case!
In the case related to the Ezgi Apartment, which collapsed during the earthquakes on February 6, 2023, resulting in the death of 35 people, fugitive defendants Sami Kervancıoğlu and Mustafa Pekel were captured in the Etimesgut district of Ankara. These defendants are accused of cutting columns during renovations of the building.
The indictment demands a total of 876 years of imprisonment for the defendants on charges of 'intentional murder' and 'injury'. Additionally, prison sentences are also requested for the building contractor and other public officials.
The Kahramanmaraş Governorate announced the capture of the fugitives who had been on the run for 703 days. This development shows how meticulously the earthquake investigations are being conducted.
As the trial process continues, the defendants' lawyers have appealed against the expert report. It is claimed that this report is insufficient to prove the defendants' innocence.
The Ezgi Apartment case has become an important struggle for justice, beyond just the collapse of a building. This case, which is closely followed by the public, will be updated with developments as they occur.
