In Kocaeli Darıca, the incident of dumping cucumbers on vacant land has caused a significant stir. Deputy Minister of Commerce Mahmut Gürcan made important statements regarding this issue.

Gürcan stated through social media that those who do not dispose of fruits and vegetables properly will face the heaviest penalties.

On June 17, 2025, approximately 250-300 kilograms of cucumbers were found dumped on vacant land in Kocaeli. This situation was immediately investigated by the Provincial Directorate of Commerce.

During inspections, it was determined that the incident occurred on the night of June 15, 2025, and a truck registered to a person named S.B. was involved.

S.B. will face an administrative fine ranging from 1.4 million TL to 17.2 million TL. Additionally, legal proceedings will be initiated for improper disposal.

The Ministry of Commerce emphasized its determination to combat any actions that threaten market stability.
