On June 7, Saturday, in the Cibali neighborhood of Fatih, Ebubekir Baran was attacked by his brother-in-law while trying to deliver his child to his mother. The brother-in-law broke the car window with a curb stone and injured Baran. The incident was recorded by nearby citizens.

After the incident, Baran went to the hospital to get a report of the assault and filed a complaint against his brother-in-law. Following this, his wife Sema Nur Sarıboğa Baran attempted suicide. This situation illustrates how destructive domestic violence and divorce processes can be.
