Ship Passages Closed Due to Fog in the Dardanelles

Ship passages in the Dardanelles have been closed due to heavy fog.
The fog intensified in the early morning hours, reducing visibility at sea. The Dardanelles Strait Traffic Services announced that as of 08:00, the strait was closed to two-way transit ship traffic. However, once the fog dissipates, ship traffic will return to normal.
The ferry services on the Dardanelles and Islands line continue as normal. However, due to the 'Çanakkale Saucony Troy Half Marathon' taking place today, some ferry services will be temporarily suspended.
The Çanakkale-Eceabat and Çanakkale-Kilitbahir ferry services will not operate between 09:30 and 13:30. During this time, citizens are advised to use alternative transportation options.
