Poland is set to enhance its military strength by acquiring 180 K2 tanks from South Korea through a new agreement. This acquisition will increase Poland's total tank inventory to 1,100 by 2030.

With this move, Poland plans to surpass the total tank count of the UK, Germany, France, and Italy, which is approximately 950. This acquisition will elevate Poland to the top of Europe.

Out of the newly acquired tanks, 61 will be produced in Poland, making it not just a buyer but also a producer of K2 tanks.

Poland will have the fourth largest tank fleet among NATO countries, following the USA, Turkey, and Greece. Turkey is also planning to acquire 250 Altay tanks by 2028.

Poland allocates 4.7% of its GDP to defense spending, making it the country with the highest budget allocation within NATO. This situation has accelerated military modernization efforts, especially due to the crisis at the Belarus border and the war in Ukraine.
