Greece's Autonomous Islands Plan! A New Era in the Aegean Sea

Greece plans to transform its islands in the Aegean Sea into autonomous units. This plan aims for military independence and rapid decision-making capabilities.
The Athens administration aims for the units to produce their own food and meet their energy needs. This way, the units can operate independently without waiting for central command.

Greece is leveraging the experiences of small military groups in Ukraine while developing this plan. Each unit is expected to be equipped with drones and portable anti-drone weapons.
By 2028, a total of 522 underground facilities are planned to be built on the islands in the Aegean Sea. These facilities aim to enhance Greece's military power.

Greece aims to turn its islands in the Aegean Sea into fortresses. This plan could escalate tensions in relations with Turkey.
