Syria to Sign Agreement for Electricity Import from Turkey

Syria is preparing to sign an important agreement for electricity import from Turkey. This development will strengthen energy cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at the Istanbul Natural Resources Summit, Syria's Energy Minister Muhammed El-Bashir announced that they will sign an agreement for electricity import from Turkey. This agreement is expected to contribute to improving Syria's energy situation.

El-Bashir also mentioned that an electricity distribution line connecting Reyhanlı and the Harem region in Idlib countryside will be put into service. Once completed, this line will transmit 80 megawatts of electricity from Turkey to Syria.

Additionally, it was stated that 6 million cubic meters of natural gas could be transferred daily to Syria's power plants via the gas pipeline. This will help improve the country's energy situation.

Minister El-Bashir invited Turkish companies to invest in Syria. He emphasized that there are many opportunities in the energy sector.
