As the congress process continues in the CHP Kocaeli Provincial Organization, Izmit Mayor Fatma Kaplan Hürriyet made striking statements regarding the ongoing debates within the party. Hürriyet emphasized her clear stance regarding the candidate she supports and stated that she has not compromised with AK Party members.

Hürriyet stated, 'I have never played both sides in my life. I made my stance clear from the beginning,' emphasizing that she prioritizes the party's reputation over her own name. She also expressed that she finds it correct for the current district president to continue.

Pointing out that the debates during the congress process are aimed at undermining the party, Hürriyet said, 'Let the winner be not the names but the Republican People's Party.'

CHP deputy Gürsel Erol also called for unity among Kılıçdaroğlu and Özel, emphasizing the party's long-standing history and the need for solidarity.
