İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan strongly reacted to the arrest of Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu. Aslan stated that they cannot accept the disregard for the people's will.

Aslan said, 'Hasan Mutlu is the elected mayor of Bayrampaşa. We cannot accept his unjust arrest.' He emphasized that such actions should not be politicized in a way that undermines citizens' voting rights.

The recent arrests of CHP mayors have caused a significant public outcry. The CHP had won mayoralties in 26 districts of Istanbul, leading to political debates.

Aslan expressed that the legal system, which is based on non-custodial trials, should not be compromised by political pressures. He stated that such situations harm the will of the people.
