Fire Disaster and Earthquake Warnings: What's Happening in Sındırgı?

The earthquakes and fire disaster in Sındırgı are causing concern among the local population.
Prof. Dr. Hasan Sözbilir stated that new fault lines, previously not shown on maps, were detected after the 6.1 magnitude earthquakes in Balıkesir's Sındırgı district. This indicates that dead faults have become active again.
Sözbilir noted, "These faults can produce earthquakes again when they are under extreme stress. This is evident in the recent earthquakes in Sındırgı," he said.
The lengths of the detected faults extend up to 35-40 kilometers, and some of these faults have not yet ruptured. This suggests that a similar magnitude earthquake could occur.
Experts warn that similar magnitude earthquakes may occur within 3-4 months following the recent events.
The fire disaster and earthquakes pose a threat to the safety of the local population. Therefore, the measures taken by the authorities are of great importance.
