Climate Change and Global Warming: The Growing Need for Financing

Climate change and global warming have become serious issues worldwide. According to a report by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the need for climate financing exceeds 310 billion dollars annually.
The financing gap for developing countries to adapt to climate change puts lives and economies at risk. In 2023, international public financing for these countries was only 26 billion dollars.
UNEP Secretary-General António Guterres stated, "Adaptation is not a cost, but a lifeline," emphasizing the rapid increase in climate impacts. He highlighted the need to increase adaptation financing.

It is emphasized that mobilizing public and private resources in the fight against climate change is essential. However, this must be done without increasing the debt burden of vulnerable countries.
In conclusion, securing the necessary financing to combat climate change is critical for the safety of both today and the future. We must take more steps in this regard.
