Forest Fires in Izmir: Air and Ground Response

Forest fires are ongoing in Izmir. The fires have affected the Karaburun and Foça regions.
A fire broke out in the Mordoğan neighborhood of Karaburun due to unknown reasons and spread rapidly due to strong winds. The response included 2 planes, 6 helicopters, and 14 fire trucks.

As a precaution, 150 homes and businesses were evacuated. The fire was brought under control after 4 hours of effort.
A similar fire occurred in Foça. The fire in the Gerenköy area was responded to with 5 helicopters and 16 fire trucks. The fire was controlled through aerial and ground interventions.

The Izmir Forest Regional Directorate mobilized all its teams to control the fires. The causes of the fires are being investigated.
