According to information from AFAD and Kandilli Observatory, a 3.9 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Silivri, Istanbul. The depth of the earthquake was recorded at 6.99 kilometers. This tremor was felt in many surrounding provinces as well.

The earthquake occurred at 12:13 PM and was reported by Kandilli Observatory to have a magnitude of 4. It caused panic in many areas of Istanbul.

President Erdoğan stated that they are monitoring the developments and extended his condolences to the citizens. Initial assessments indicated no damage to highways or airports.

AFAD warned citizens not to enter risky buildings. Initial scans after the earthquake reported no negative findings.

Aftershocks continue. Following the earthquake in Istanbul, aftershocks of magnitudes 3.3 and 4.1 have been recorded.
