A landslide in Aşağıdurak Village of Rize caused great panic on Friday evening. 18 houses were evacuated as a precaution.

The landslide occurred when the melting snow loosened the soil, causing it to flow down into the village. Residents had to leave their homes after being warned by neighbors.

Resident İsmail Hakkı Bayrak recounted the horror of the moment: 'Neighbors shouted, but we didn't hear them. It came to the back of the house before we realized.'

Emine Ofluoğlu expressed her shock, saying, 'I looked and saw the apocalypse coming.' After the event, the village experienced a water cut, making it difficult for residents to meet their needs.

AFAD and other teams are conducting cleaning operations in the village. However, villagers are forced to transport their animals to the town center.

Such natural disasters complicate life in villages. Authorities need to take urgent measures to address the needs of the villagers.
