Latest Developments on Pension Salaries and Inflation Differences

The latest developments regarding pension salaries and inflation differences are eagerly awaited.
At the beginning of the year, salary increases for civil servants and pensioners have started to diminish against inflation. ENAG reported an average price increase of 16.24% in the first three months of the year. This situation negatively affects the purchasing power of retirees.
While the purchasing power of the minimum wage has also decreased, the salaries of pensioners are eroding against inflation. By the end of March, the lowest pension salary has dropped to 12,448 TL.
Civil servants will receive an additional 3.83% inflation difference on top of the 6% collective agreement increase they received at the beginning of the year. However, this difference will be accumulated over six months.
The salary increase rates to be made in July will be determined based on inflation data. Therefore, an important period is approaching for retirees and civil servants.
