Devlet Bahçeli and the Beykoz Transformation Project

Modern buildings in Beykoz and their surroundings.

The transformation project supported by Devlet Bahçeli in Beykoz is replacing risky slum areas with modern housing.

In Tokatköy, Beykoz, modern houses are being built under the assurance of Emlak Konut GYO, transforming the risky structures in the area. Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, emphasized how this transformation has made citizens happy. He encouraged people not to fear transformation.

The project, initiated in 2023 in Tokatköy, is being carried out over an area of 9 hectares, with a total of 823 housing units being constructed. Minister Kurum stated, "All rights holders have been protected on site."

Residents who have left their old homes are eagerly waiting to move into their new houses. Esat Özbay said, "I am 72 years old, I couldn't have built this house. Now I am following the construction with my grandchildren."

Semahat Özbay expressed that she cried when leaving her old house but is now excited to move into her new home. "The houses are very spacious and beautiful," she said.

Urban transformation projects have proven their resilience in many parts of Turkey during earthquakes. The fact that these projects are carried out under the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change increases their reliability.
