New Tunnel Project in Istanbul Revolutionizes Transportation

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir UraloÄŸlu inspects the tunnel project.

A new tunnel is coming to Istanbul! Travel time will drop from 35 minutes to just 5 minutes. This project will fundamentally change transportation in Istanbul.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu inspected the Sarıyer-Kilyos Tunnel Project on-site. The project will be a total of 8.2 kilometers long and will connect the northern part of Istanbul directly to the North Marmara Highway.

This tunnel will speed up access to business centers like Maslak, Levent, and BeÅŸiktaÅŸ. Additionally, the connection between Istanbul Airport and business centers will also be facilitated.

Minister UraloÄŸlu stated that the project will save 3.3 billion lira annually and reduce harmful carbon emissions by 32,000 tons.

The summer tourism activities in the northern part of Istanbul will also be revitalized with this project. Moreover, it will provide quick access in case of major disaster situations.
