Transportation Fare Increase and Recent Developments in Istanbul

A new era of fare increases has begun in Istanbul's public transportation.
AKP Provincial Chairman Abdullah Özdemir announced that the 30% fare increase will not apply to 'U' logo metros and Marmaray. This news brought relief to many Istanbul residents.

With the decision taken by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) council, fares for public transport vehicles such as metro, bus, minibus, metrobüs, and ferry have increased. However, Marmaray and 'U' logo metros are excluded from this increase.
The fare for a full ticket has risen from 27 lira to 35 lira, while the blue card subscription fee has increased from 2,120 lira to 2,748 lira. These increases have sparked debates among Istanbul residents.

As discussions about public transport fares continue in Istanbul, citizens are curious about how this increase will affect them. Especially for Marmaray users, this situation is a welcome news.
We will continue to follow developments regarding the fare increase in Istanbul. Our efforts to protect citizens' rights will persist.
