Following the arrest of Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney due to corruption allegations, a deputy mayor election was held in Beyoğlu Municipality.

The CHP Group's candidate, Sefer Karaahmetoğlu, received 16 votes in the election, which had a total of 30 votes cast, marking a significant change in Beyoğlu Municipality.

Sefer Karaahmetoğlu was born in 1978 in Giresun. He has been practicing law for many years and now takes on an important role in Beyoğlu.
