MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's call to PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan has shaken Turkey's agenda. Bahçeli urged Öcalan to speak in the Turkish Grand National Assembly and for PKK to lay down its arms.

Following Bahçeli's call, PKK announced that it has convened its congress. The congress took place from May 5-7, but details of the decisions made have not yet been shared. MHP emphasized the need for responsibility in the pursuit of peace and democratic solutions during this process.

MHP Istanbul Deputy Celal Adan stated that under Bahçeli's leadership, the era of blood and hatred has ended. Adan expressed that the Turkish nation has won and that brotherhood should remain eternal.

DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan noted that the convening of PKK's congress is a matter of time and that they are waiting for this historic step with great seriousness. It was emphasized that everyone must do their part to build a terror-free future in Turkey.
