The AKP has submitted a bill to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey to raise the retirement bonus to 4 thousand lira. This regulation covers payments to retirees during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha.

Retirees receive bonuses during holidays every year. Last year, this amount was 3 thousand lira. This year, it has been set at 4 thousand lira.

AKP Group Vice President Abdullah Güler stated that this increase will benefit approximately 16 million retirees, including those who qualify for retirement as of March 1.

In addition to this regulation, birth assistance is also included in the proposal. This arrangement for retirees was made considering budget balances.

The increase of the retirement bonus to 4 thousand lira is seen as an important step to improve the living standards of retirees. However, there are also some criticisms regarding this decision.
