Climate Change and Global Warming: Temperatures Rising

Climate change and global warming are among the most discussed topics today. With rising temperatures, the effects are starting to be felt in Turkey.

In the Marmara Region, temperatures are high, but the strong winds are making evenings cooler. In Istanbul, Bursa, and Izmir, temperatures will approach 30 degrees by the weekend. Desert dust is causing a hazy sky.

In Central Anatolia, the intensity of desert dust is increasing, with temperature differences reaching 20 degrees. During the day, temperatures are around 22-24 degrees, while at night they drop to 2-3 degrees.

The Aegean Region is sunny, but the winds are making evenings cooler. Manisa is at 26, Muğla at 20, and Denizli at 26 degrees. In the Mediterranean Region, temperatures are around 24-25 degrees.

In Eastern Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia, sunny weather prevails. Erzurum is at 11, Malatya at 21, and Gaziantep and Diyarbakır at 24 degrees. However, desert dust has also reached these regions.

Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Toros from Istanbul Technical University stated that desert dust can negatively affect air quality. Therefore, individuals with respiratory diseases need to be cautious.
