Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu quickly responded to the recent arrest claims. The IBB denied that his advisor was under arrest.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into CHP municipalities. A total of 32 people were arrested in this operation. However, it was stated that the person claimed to be Imamoğlu's advisor does not hold such a position in the IBB.

In the official statement from IBB, it was noted, "It is significant that TRT did not obtain information from IBB units while writing this claim. Legal actions will be taken against TRT for this news operation,".

The investigation is related to irregular tenders in the Sarıyer and Şişli municipalities. Imamoğlu emphasized the rule of law in this process and stated that it should be conducted fairly.

Imamoğlu stressed that all municipalities in Istanbul should operate transparently and that such claims are baseless. The IBB published the list of all its advisors on its corporate website.
