İmamoğlu emphasized that Demirtaş's freedom is a measure of the government's sincerity. He reiterated, "We stand by Selahattin Demirtaş and everyone who defends democracy."

İmamoğlu stated, "Turkey will not be a country where politicians are in prison," delivering a hopeful message.

He noted that the continuation of Demirtaş's imprisonment is a major obstacle to resolving the Kurdish issue.
