Travel Time Between Ankara and Izmir Reduced to 3.5 Hours

Ankara-Izmir High-Speed Train Project

The Ankara-Izmir High-Speed Train Project is reducing travel time!

The Presidency's Communication Directorate announced that the travel time between Ankara and Izmir will decrease from 14 hours to 3.5 hours upon completion of the YHT line. This project is expected to carry 13.3 million passengers annually.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu detailed the project, stating that there will be 10 new stations between Ankara and Izmir. This line will also accelerate regional connections.

With the completion of the Ankara-Izmir YHT line, travel time between Ankara and Afyonkarahisar will be reduced to 1 hour and 40 minutes, and between Ankara and Uşak to 2 hours and 10 minutes. This project will strengthen Turkey's transportation infrastructure.

Once completed, the distance between Ankara and Izmir will be 624 kilometers, and it is projected that 90 million tons of cargo will be transported annually on this line.
