CHP Chairman Özgür Özel has challenged Istanbul Chief Prosecutor Akın Gürlek. Özel claims that Gürlek was allocated luxury vehicles by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality before 2019.

Özel stated that he expects Gürlek to deny the allegations and mentioned that he has proof. He emphasized that Gürlek has not investigated past corruption cases.

Özel claimed that Gürlek has traveled on a luxury yacht and that he has proof of this. He also stated that the allocated property was in violation of zoning regulations.
