In recent days, the detention of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has become a significant topic in Turkey. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel reacted strongly to this situation.

Özgür Özel stated that İmamoğlu's detention is a coup attempt, emphasizing, "We will stand by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. We are here and we are not going anywhere."

Özel emphasized that CHP will act in unity and solidarity during this process, stating, "This is a coup attempt. We will not be intimidated, we will not give up!"

Following İmamoğlu's detention, CHP canceled its holiday greeting programs with political parties. Özgür Özel met with party members at the İBB building in Saraçhane.

Özgür Özel invited all CHP members to the polls on March 23, emphasizing the importance of solidarity during this process.
