New regulations for natural gas bills are coming!

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced a new system for natural gas bills based on cities. This system will take into account the consumption habits and climate conditions of each province.

Starting in 2026, subscribers exceeding the average monthly consumption will be removed from the support group. For instance, while the average consumption in Erzurum is 230 cubic meters, it is 180 cubic meters in Ankara. These differences form the basis of the new regulation.

Minister Bayraktar emphasized, "We want support to go to those who really need it," highlighting the purpose of this regulation. This will encourage energy efficiency and savings.

The new system is planned to be implemented in 2026. However, citizens are advised to check their current bills and adjust their consumption according to the 50% limit.
