As discussions on climate change and global warming continue, snow is coming to Turkey this week!

According to Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen, temperatures are expected to drop rapidly starting Thursday, especially in Eastern Anatolia and the Eastern Black Sea. In particular, temperatures in Erzurum, Erzincan, and Gümüşhane are expected to drop by 7-10 degrees.

Experts emphasize that there is no significant cooling or snow expected for Istanbul and western provinces. However, snowfall is expected in the highlands of the Eastern Black Sea.

The General Directorate of Meteorology predicts a sudden drop in temperatures during these days of summer heat, especially in Eastern Anatolia where snowfall is expected.

Currently, temperatures are 12-15 degrees above seasonal norms, but a drop of 22 degrees is expected next week.
