The fire disaster occurred at the connection point of the Gebze-Izmir-Istanbul highway. Smoke started rising from the engine compartment of the truck while it was in motion.

As the driver noticed the situation and pulled the vehicle to the side, the truck suddenly caught fire. Firefighters and police were dispatched to the scene after the alarm was raised.

Police secured the area and managed traffic flow on a single lane. Firefighters controlled the fire after approximately 30 minutes of intervention.

Fortunately, there were no injuries, but the truck was rendered unusable. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
