A storm and fire disaster is happening in Izmir!

A fire that started in agricultural land in Menderes' Chile neighborhood has spread to the forest. Many teams have been dispatched to intervene in the fire. Efforts are ongoing to control the fire from the air and ground.

The fire started around 12:30 PM, and teams immediately responded. Eight planes, nine helicopters, and numerous fire trucks were directed to the fire area by the Izmir Forest Regional Directorate.

Citizens are advised to be cautious of storm and lightning strike dangers. Firefighting teams stated that they have reduced the energy of the fire and are fighting to bring it under control.
