Recently, storms and heavy rains in some regions of Turkey have caused serious damage. Events in Yusufeli, Artvin, highlight this situation.

The storm in Yusufeli blew off roofs of many houses and flooded streets and avenues. Images taken after the event show the extent of the damage.

A similar situation occurred in Ankara. Heavy rainfall filled buildings with water and caused some walls to collapse. AFAD and other teams quickly intervened at the scene.

In Artvin, many trees fell due to the storm, causing material damage to vehicles. Power outages were also experienced, plunging many neighborhoods into darkness.

Such natural disasters remind us of the need to be prepared at all times. AFAD and municipal teams continue damage assessment and repair work.
