Climate Change and Heat Waves: Stay Cautious!

Climate change is causing an increase in heat waves worldwide. This week, temperatures in Turkey are expected to reach record levels.
The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued warnings for extreme heat on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to rise to 36-45 degrees.
Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen stated that people should avoid going outside during these hot days. Those with heart conditions and the elderly need to be particularly cautious.

The heat wave also increases the risk of forest fires. The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry warned citizens against starting fires.
During hot days, it is important to stay in shaded areas and drink plenty of water. Even healthy individuals are advised to avoid being outside.

In Istanbul, temperatures are expected to rise to 36 degrees. Therefore, those who will be outside need to be careful.
