Natural disasters struck Mersin! Tornado and frost have left farmers in distress.

In the districts of Anamur and Silifke, a tornado caused significant damage to banana and strawberry greenhouses, with estimated losses of around 200 million TL.

The President of the Mersin Chamber of Agriculture stated that the damage is extensive and many greenhouses are uninsured. Farmers are hoping for swift action from the government to address the situation.

Due to the frost disaster, there are no fruits or vegetables left in the open fields. Farmers expressed that this situation has put them in a difficult position.

Authorities emphasized the need for the region to be declared a disaster area. Urgent measures are expected to support farmers affected by these disasters.
